The Odd Ocean Series is one of the few pieces that I had given myself the challenge of working on; Pop art inspired works to help better develop my process and style. The concept for this piece started out with simple music. Often times when I listen to music, I try to imagine scenarios that each individual song is happening to... Who is singing them? Why? What is the atmosphere like?  Atmosphere...ATMOSPHERE! I thought to myself. An impossibly large whimsical looking animal, flying, singing their heart out through the sky. Their songs capable of changing the weather to match the melancholy or upbeat tune, I just had to explore the concept a bit more. As high as they might fly, I also wanted to give them a very grounded and urban aesthetic. Henceforth I decided to add in the graffiti and piercings. 

"A display of color and mischief... A playful, silent, and even possibly dangerous collaboration to suggest that doing the right thing may break some rules. But, how bad would you really feel if you knew it was what was needed to heal a little?"
