.Scrye.
Scrye is my first attempt of recreating a less stylized and more accurate depiction of a rabbit. It's important to me that within my selection of skills that I'm able to reproduce and fit rabbits within as many environments as I can; Just as in real life, rabbits have shown to survive and flourish in practically every corner of the world, I'd like to be artistically capable of doing just the same. I also wanted to play with the positioning of the rabbit a bit all the while making sure what I was doing so within the comforts of really beginning to understand the anatomy. I'm all for biting off more than I can chew as it's a great way to learn more, but I needed to make sure there was no room for self sabotage as well as something that can be reasonably completed on time.
"Eyes are strewn about the rabbit's body allowing the creature to react accordingly to it's surroundings. As the viewer walks around the piece, they'll notice the creature can see them no matter where they are. I wanted the piece to be a play on the concept of paranoia and it's relationship to the natural instinct of survival. When is it right to be paranoid? Is it a mere exaggeration or lack of maturity or your instincts trying to save your life? I enjoy the blunt ambiguity behind the piece as each person will have their own take of the matter; From gut feelings that have once saved their life in the past to the social media pondering that someone of ill manners is watching..."
